The impression of late morning light illuminating the cobwebs inside an old radiator sparked my interest in spiders. Golden tinsel, found on a waste dump in the woods, provides the material for my approach to mimic their intricate weaving. The hour-long process of knotting the tinsel bits and weaving them into a net highlightens the fragility and appeal of the cheap material.
While the resulting structure might seem natural at first sight, the spectator's gaze unfolds its artificiality at closer examination.
